    About the Cambridge Clinic

About our fertility clinic in Cambridge

Our Cambridge fertility clinic is set within a beautiful Jacobean manor house surrounded by 22 acres of private parkland in the village of Bourn, just 10 miles west of the historic city of Cambridge. The peaceful setting offers space and privacy away from a busy hospital environment, while remaining easily accessible for patients across Cambridgeshire and beyond.

Bourn Hall holds a unique place in fertility history. It was here that Robert Edwards, Patrick Steptoe and Jean Purdy established the world’s first IVF clinic. Their pioneering work led to the birth of the first baby conceived through IVF, transforming fertility treatment around the world. That same commitment to careful science and compassionate care continues today at our Cambridge clinic.

Their story has since reached a wider audience through the Netflix film ‘Joy’, which explores the scientific determination and personal dedication behind the early days of IVF. We welcome both NHS-funded and private patients and offer a full range of fertility treatments and tests, including IVF, ICSI, egg freezing and specialist clinics for miscarriage and endometriosis. Whatever stage you’re at in your journey, our team is here to provide thoughtful support and personalised care.
