Egg Donation Demystified: What to Expect – Join Our Upcoming Webinar
14 Jan 2026
Egg donation, particularly in its systematic modern form, is relatively novel within the fertility industry. As with most IVF treatment, public knowledge of the subject is often influenced by the diverse array of methodological and legal frameworks across the world. In particular, the commercialised industry of some countries has given many the impression that gamete donation can involve predatory practices that ultimately diminish the altruistic benefit of the decision. In the UK, egg donation is a carefully managed, altruistic process that is both safe and straightforward. Unfortunately, these misconceptions mean that many people remain unaware of the simplicity, safety, and significance of this extraordinarily generous gesture.
To help provide clear and accurate information, Bourn Hall’s dedicated donor team will be hosting a free, online webinar on Tuesday 17th February at 6pm. This will be led by Dr Chhaya Prasannan-Nair, who will explain Bourn Hall’s egg donation pathway and offer a clinical perspective of the safety and straightforwardness of ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval.
Also joining the session will be Jackie Stewart, one of Bourn Hall’s experienced fertility counsellors. Jackie will discuss the role of implications counselling in the donation process and share insights from her many years supporting donors and recipients, highlighting the remarkable altruistic value of egg donation, which helps patients who may have no other way to achieve pregnancy.
This webinar is an opportunity to gain expert insight and explore whether egg donation could be right for you. It is free to attend and takes place via Zoom. Click below to register your attendance.
