Recurrent miscarriage clinic
At Bourn Hall, we understand the emotional and physical toll that miscarriage can take. Our recurrent miscarriage clinic offers comprehensive investigations alongside compassionate, personalised support as you navigate the next steps on your journey.
How our recurrent miscarriage clinic works
We recognise that miscarriage can be an extremely distressing experience, and the journey is often made harder by long waits for NHS fertility testing, which is usually only available after three miscarriages. At Bourn Hall, our recurrent miscarriage clinic welcomes anyone who has experienced one or more pregnancy losses, whether following natural conception or fertility treatment.
We offer two levels of investigation, which are tailored to your individual needs. The Standard panel includes key checks such as womb structure, hormone balance, blood clotting and sperm health. The Extended panel provides a more detailed assessment and also includes genetic and immunology testing.
Both panels have been designed in line with UK, European and US guidance, giving you thorough insight into the possible causes of miscarriage.
As part of your journey at our miscarriage clinic, you’ll have a one-hour consultation with our fertility nutritionist, who can suggest personalised lifestyle and dietary changes.
If you become pregnant again, we’ll offer a complimentary early pregnancy scan to provide extra reassurance and peace of mind in those important early weeks.
Costs for our miscarriage clinic packages start from £1,750 for the Standard panel and £3,240 for the Extended panel. Every situation is unique, so we encourage you to contact our team for a personal breakdown and guidance on what may be most appropriate for you.
Our team will take the time to listen to your story and understand your individual history, helping you choose the panel of investigations that’s most appropriate for you.
The Standard miscarriage panel is often suitable if you’ve experienced at least one early pregnancy loss (before 12 weeks), whether following natural conception or fertility treatment.
The Extended panel may be recommended if you’ve had three or more early pregnancy losses, if you’re under 35 and have had two or more, or if you’re planning in vitro fertilisation (IVF) with embryo genetic testing (PGT-A).
We also provide tailored options for same-sex female couples and single women.
At Bourn Hall, you’ll be cared for by a team with decades of experience in fertility and early pregnancy. As the world’s first IVF clinic, we’ve supported thousands of people on their journey to parenthood, and we bring that same expertise to every miscarriage investigation.
What makes our recurrent miscarriage clinic unique is the combination of medical insight and emotional support. Our investigations provide comprehensive testing, and every step of your care is personalised to your individual situation. In addition, we offer dedicated time with our fertility nutritionist and a complimentary early pregnancy scan to provide extra reassurance if you conceive again.
From your very first conversation with us, you’ll be listened to, supported and guided with compassion.

Frequently asked questions
Your questions answered. Find clarity on every step of your fertility journey.
It’s not always easy to know when the right time is to reach out for support. Some people choose to come to us after one miscarriage, while others may have experienced more. There’s no ‘right’ time – whenever you feel ready, we’re here to listen, investigate possible causes and provide reassurance about your next steps.
The Standard panel focuses on the key tests that can help identify potential causes, such as hormone checks, clotting assessments, scans of the womb and sperm analysis (if there is a male partner).
The Extended panel provides a deeper level of investigation by including additional genetic and immunology testing, offering even more insight and guidance for your care.
You don’t need to wait until you’ve had three miscarriages to seek help from us. While NHS services often have this requirement, our recurrent miscarriage clinic is open to anyone who has experienced one or more pregnancy losses. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to find answers and feel supported, no matter how many losses they have been through.
In some cases, investigations can point to a possible reason for miscarriage. In others, there may not be one clear explanation. Whatever your results show, our team will explain everything carefully and talk through the options available. You’ll never be left without guidance or support.
If you become pregnant again, either naturally or with treatment, we will invite you for a complimentary early pregnancy scan. Many people find this scan comforting, as it offers reassurance in those first few weeks and gives our team the opportunity to check that everything is progressing as expected.
