Successful Egg Donor Recipients Give Hope to Couples seeking Donor Treatment
In April, couples in treatment at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic and those considering egg donor fertility treatment were treated to an event held by the Donor Team to provide more insight into the donor recipient process. Bourn Hall is home to a dedicated, in-house Donor Team who is responsible for guiding patients through the donor treatment pathway to ensure they are supported and looked after, every step of the way.
The event was led by Hannah Bokor, Lead Donor Co-ordinator at Bourn Hall, and she was joined by IVF Consultant Dr. Chhaya Prasannan-Nair as well as members of the Bourn Hall donor services team.
Specially invited guests at the event were Jonathan and Victoria, a couple who had conceived with the assistance of donor egg treatment at Bourn Hall’s clinic in Norwich.
The couple shared their experience of donor-assisted treatment from the patient perspective, which was most helpful for couples about to embark on their fertility journey with the assistance of donor gametes. Hearing the ins and outs of the pathway from those who’d been through it before, made all the difference for patients in attendance.
The audience also gained helpful insights from the donor services team who provided an overview of the patient journey from initial enquiry to treatment. Topics such as donor screening, implications counselling, success rates and patient considerations were also covered.
